WEIGHTS & MEASURES / CUP CONVERSIONS

Most households in India do not use Standard Measuring Cup in their
kitchens. They work by approximation and hand measures like pinch
and handful etc. Therefore, at Nestlé India Test Kitchen we use the
following household measures. You can standardize any cup in your
house by marking it against 5 oz. of baby's feeding bottle or against a
tin of Sweetened Condensed milk which contains 300 ml i.e. 2 cups
of condensed milk (though it weighs 400g).

Tea spoons and tablespoons are also the medium sized household spoons
and NOT Standard spoons.

All spoon measures are lightly heaped measures unless mentioned
otherwise.All cup measures are approx. till the goldline marking in
the household teacup, if it is there.

All Nestlé recipes refer to household cup/tablespoon/teaspoon
